Susana from Ecuador: In First Person – Stories of Resilience and Dreams

Susana left Ecuador with her heart set on her children and the hope of building a safer life for them in New York.

This video is part of In First Person, a series that brings together stories inspired by the experiences of Latin American migrant women who have recently arrived in New York City.

Through brief, first-person narratives, the series centers the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of families seeking to rebuild their lives in a new environment.

About the series

In First Person presents four stories inspired by the experiences of women from Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and Mexico. Each video offers an intimate perspective that reflects a reality shared by many migrant families, while highlighting their resilience and hope.

This project is a collaboration between Equity for Children and A Chance in Life, two organizations committed to promoting equity, well-being, and opportunities for children and their families.
