Laura arrived in the United States from Peru with her three-year-old daughter, expecting language barriers and finding work to be her greatest challenges. Instead, she faced isolation, loneliness, and abuse in a country that felt unfamiliar and unwelcoming.

With the support of other Peruvian mothers, she found the strength to leave violence behind and rebuild her life. Today, she cares for children and is committed to helping create a future where all children can grow up safe, respected, and full of hope.

Her story highlights the power of community, resilience, and the importance of ensuring that migrant women and families have the support they need to thrive.
